Hexagon Currency Converter ("Hexagon", "we", "us") is a Shopify app made by Tiny Sprouts Creations, No. 54, 1st Main, KGS Layout, Vijaynagar Extension, Bengaluru 560040, Karnataka, India.

What Hexagon does

Hexagon shows shoppers on a Shopify store an estimate of each price in their local currency, next to the price the store will charge. It is added to the store's theme through Shopify's theme app extensions and is removed from every theme when the merchant uninstalls the app.

Information we collect from merchants

When a merchant installs Hexagon, Shopify gives us, and we store:

• the store's myshopify domain, Shopify store ID and app installation ID;
• the store's currency;
• the merchant's Hexagon settings (currencies, wording, rounding, countries and visitor options);
• the merchant's Hexagon plan and when we last checked it with Shopify;
• an access token that lets Hexagon act on the store within the permissions the merchant approved.

If the merchant turns on Prices abroad, Shopify asks the merchant to grant two extra permissions (markets and products). We then read the store's markets, the countries in them and their price-list adjustments, and we change only the percentage adjustment the merchant chooses. We keep a log of each change (the market, the old and new percentage and the time) so the merchant can see what was changed.

We use this information only to provide Hexagon: to write the store's exchange-rate estimates and settings into the store, to apply the merchant's price adjustments, to show the merchant their setup and plan, and to check their subscription with Shopify.

We do not read or store the store's customers or orders. We do not read product details; the products permission is needed only because Shopify requires it to change market price lists.

Information about shoppers

Hexagon does not collect, receive or store any information about shoppers.

• The estimate is calculated in the shopper's browser from data that Shopify serves with the store's own pages. The storefront makes no requests to Hexagon's servers.
• To suggest the right country, the script asks the store's own Shopify address (/browsing_context_suggestions.json) which country Shopify detects. This request goes to Shopify, not to us.
• To remember a shopper's choice (for example, that they picked a country or dismissed a suggestion), Hexagon stores a short value in the shopper's own browser (local storage and one first-party cookie named hexagon_chosen). It is never sent to us.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell, rent or share merchant information. We use these service providers:

• Shopify (the platform the app runs on, and app billing);
• Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting of our server and database on Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare D1);
• Exchange-rate providers (for example Frankfurter, which publishes European Central Bank reference rates): we download published rates from them and send them no merchant or shopper information.

Retention and deletion

• When a merchant uninstalls Hexagon, Shopify removes Hexagon's theme extension from every theme and we stop processing the store's data.
• Shopify sends us a shop/redact request 48 hours after uninstallation; we then delete the store's records, including its access token, settings and price-change log, from our database.
• Because we hold no shopper data, customers/data_request and customers/redact requests have nothing to return or delete; we confirm them to Shopify.
• Published exchange rates (which are not personal data) are kept for up to 30 days.

Security

Data is sent over HTTPS. Access tokens are stored in our database and used only for the purposes above. Only Tiny Sprouts Creations can access our hosting and database accounts.

Your rights

Merchants can ask what we hold about their store, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by writing to info@tinysprout.in. We reply within 30 days. Shoppers can clear Hexagon's browser storage at any time in their browser settings.

Email

Hexagon reads your store's contact email from Shopify only to send app-related email: a single check-in about a week after install. We do not store the address. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
